A researcher, winner of a L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Fellowship

Pascaline Hayoun has been awarded one of the 30 fellowships for 2016 presented under the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program, which acknowledges the passion and excellence of research work undertaken by women PhD or post-doctoral students in France.

Pascaline was honored for her thesis study for Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics on understanding the flow of fluids – water, milk, coffee, blood or medication – in plastic tubes to avoid bacterial contamination in these tubes. Pascaline conducted her thesis work at the SIMM (Soft Matter Sciences and Engineering) laboratory at the ESPCI (French engineering school), and at the joint CNRS-French Scientific Research Center/Saint-Gobain laboratory and with the Systems for Fluids R&D team at Saint-Gobain Research Paris.

Each year, Saint-Gobain funds more than 50 PhD and post-doctoral students worldwide in partnership with top level academic laboratories. This provides a pool of talented individuals for the Group, such as Pascaline who has just joined CertainTeed’s Insulation Research & Development team in Malvern, Pennsylvania (United States).

Discover here her thesis teaser.
